Buyer beware! I would give this more stars except for the fact it is exactly, and I mean exactly the very same book as Victorian Needlepoint by the same author. I'm talking word for word, page by page, project by project. The only difference is the title and cover. So I guess if I had been able to see the table of contents for both books I could have know it was the same. But wouldn't you know, only Arts & Crafts Needlepoint allowed you to see the table of contents. Kind of makes you wonder if that was on purpose! The only thing I can do now is try and find someone to give the other book to.All that being said, do buy one of them as the projects are very well done as well as some history on William Morris and the arts and crafts movement.
This is a revised and improved version of Victorian Needlepoint. These are the same projects but she has made modifications to improve the designs. These changes apparently have not been noticed by people who say this is the exact same book. This book is an edited version of the first book. (I have both books.) Also the charts are not hand drawn and are easier to read. If you have the earlier book you may not want this one. However, if you love the earlier one and wish the patterns were easier to read you might want this one, especially for the revisions which improve the designs. I think she should have given the book the same name, as an updated and revised version.
While this is another beautiful book by Beth Russell and shows her versions of Morris work, it is not an outright pattern. It does show color picture of tiny boxes. No symbols to differentiate. She tells you the colors she uses of 10 hanks of yarn sold on her site but not hardly any of them done in the more affordable dmc same colors
This is a nice book in theory but if you are buying to get the patterns then you should know that many of the patterns (the larger, nicest ones) only have half of the pattern printed out. Unbelievably, the reader is instructed to hold a mirror up to the pattern to "see" the other half because it mirrors the printed half. Nowhere in the description of the book does it indicate that many of the patterns are incomplete. Not sure exactly what you are paying for with this book as it is not complete. The idea was good but execution leaves something to be desired.

I like this book so much I bought it twice! Actually, the images are beautiful.
Wonderful book by the very talented Beth Russell. Illustrates many ways to interpret and use William Morris' designs for your own use.
Beautiful patterns. Found several that I'm going to have to make.
